Getting the Data You Want
Use OPUS
Search results include data files, tables of associated metadata,
and footprint diagrams for each observation. User selected data files
can be bundled as tar.gz files for easy downloading.
The table below contains links to all of the available data volumes from the
Saturn encounter re-formatted into fixed length data files. For information on
the re-formatted data, see About Re-formatted
Data.
Note: There is a time delay between the release of a new set of CIRS volumes and
the generation of the corresponding reformatted versions. We will generate
the latter and post them as quickly as possible.
Clicking on the Volume number will allow you to browse the
volume.
To download an entire volume, right click on that
volume's "Bundled" link in the second column.
The bundled volumes are provided in .tar.gz format. For
information on opening files of this type, click
here .
Be aware that even with a 4:1 compression ratio, the
Bundled versions can be on the order of 4GB and may
take a few hours to download. Users are encouraged to
download during the late night/early morning hours
California time.
Clicking on Footprints will take you to a directory
containing footprint diagrams of each CIRS observation. The
RINDATA sub-directory contains diagrams of the ring footprints.
The POIDATA sub-directory contains diagrams of the Saturn
footprints. The APODSPEC/ISPM directory contains copies of one or
the other - the ring footprints if the observation contains
ring data, otherwise the Saturn footprint.
For each observation, there are three foot print files: two jpg
thumbnails and an epsf file. The suffix 200x200 indicates a small
thumbnail of 200x200 pixels. The 650x650 suffix indicates a larger
and more detailed diagram. The epsf files were used to generate
the jpegs. They provide finer resolution than the jpegs.
