Getting the Data You Want

The table below contains links to all of the available data volumes from the Saturn encounter re-formatted into fixed length data files. For information on the re-formatted data, see About Re-formatted Data

  • Clicking on the VOLUME_ID will take you to the root directory of the volume.

  • To download an entire volume, right click on that volume's Zip link in the second column. Note: These are large files---on the order of 1 to 3 Gbytes. Downloading may take some time. Note that some volumes are too large to compress via the Zip format; these are provided in .tar.gz format instead (meaning that they are Unix tar files compressed by gnuzip).

  • New. Clicking on Footprints will take you to a directory containing footprint diagrams of each CIRS observation. The RINDATA sub-directory contains diagrams of the ring footprints. The POIDATA sub-directory contains diagrams of the Saturn footprints. The APODSPEC/ISPM directory contains copies of one or the other - the ring footprints if the observation contains ring data, otherwise the Saturn footprint.

    For each observation, there are three foot print files: two jpg thumbnails and an epsf file. The suffix 200x200 indicates a small thumbnail of 200x200 pixels. The 650x650 suffix indicates a larger and more detailed diagram. The epsf files were used to generate the jpegs. They provide finer resolution than the jpegs.
