What's New! ...at the PDS Rings Node (1994)

December 23, 1994

Excerpts from the Voyager science teams' 30-day reports are now on-line for Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune. (The Saturn papers are still in progress). We have extracted the sections relevant to planetary ring systems and have converted them to hypertext, with links to the figures. The papers were originally published in Science.

In addition, several recent images from Hubble Space Telescope provide excellent views of the rings of Saturn and Uranus.

On the "1995/1996 Saturn ring plane crossings" page, we have added an order form for ephemeris data and software. Ephemerides for the Sun, Earth, Moon, Saturn and (nearly) all satellites are now available.

Also on the "1995/1996 Saturn ring plane crossings" page, we have added eclipse predictions for the small inner satellites, as provided by P. D. Nicholson of Cornell University.

Finally, a diagram of the Saturnicentric longitude for the Earth and Sun is now available to be viewed or downloaded.

November 16, 1994

On the "1995/1996 Saturn ring plane crossings" page, we have added predictions of transits, occultations and eclipses for the classical Saturnian satellites, as provided by J. E. Arlot and W. Thuillot of the Bureau des Londitudes in Paris.

Under "FUN STUFF," several articles from Science have been added to the "Jupiter" page.
