END_OBJECT = TEXT END DATA Directory Area Contents ---------------------------- This directory contains four subdirectories, each of which contains particular types of files. These provide Raw data (interferograms) and calibrated data (spectra), with associated pointing, navigation and spacecraft orientation information. The four subdirectories are: APODSPEC/ apodized, i.e. calibrated and resampled, spectra. HSK_DATA/ raw housekeeping data. NAV_DATA/ navigation and pointing data. UNCALIB/ uncalibrated data. File conventions ---------------- All of the files are accompanied by PDS label files .LBL where is the same for both the label file and the file it describes. For each data file type in a subdirectory, there is a corresponding format file (.FMT). The combination of a label file and the corresponding format file fully describes an individual data file. Files with the .DAT and .VAR extensions are binary format data files in two parts. Their format is designed to be accessed by the Vanilla program. Hence the files FILENAME.DAT and FILENAME.VAR are two halves of a whole: the .DAT file is the fixed-length record part and the .VAR is the variable length record file. The pair is described by a single PDS label. The FILENAME is typically a 3 or 4 letter string followed by 8-digit number. The letter string identifies the type of information stored therin, and the 8-digit number YYMMDDHH gives the start date and time DD/MM/YY HH:00:00 of the four-hour period to which the data pertain. Specific directory contents by subdirectory and file type --------------------------------------------------------- DATA/ DATAINFO.TXT Description of the contents of the DATA directory and its subdirectories (this file). APODSPEC/ ISPM calibrated, re-sampled (interpolated) spectral data. After FFT transform, data as resampled onto a standard spectral grid. HSK_DATA/ HSK binary data records for raw housekeeping data NAV_DATA/ GEO binary data records for spacecraft orientation relative to primary body, earth, sun, and moons. POI binary data records for detector intercept location, orientation and other info on the target body (e.g., incident angle on planet, smear, FOV filling factor). RIN binary data records for detector intercept location, orientation and other information on ring observations. TAR binary data records for target identification in the FOV of each detector. UNCALIB/ DIAG binary data records for IFM diagnostic information. FRV binary data records for IFM fringe voltages. IFGM binary data records for raw interferogram data. IHSK binary data records for housekeeping data interpolated onto the same time-steps as observations. OBS binary data records for observation parameters. In addition to data files, each subdirectory contains a supplemental file: DATASET.TXT Vanilla DATASET file (ASCII), listing the types of Vanilla files to search for in the directory.
