Two other reviewers used Linux and did not report any difficulties. One used xv, and other did not indicate what he used. For that matter, no one indicated whether they were reading from the disk or copying files to the hard drive first. We were able to open the files directly from the disk under Mac OsX using DS9, FITSVIEW, and NASAVIEW under windows. We've upgraded the software used to burn the disks just in case. However, the PDS has moved to electronic rather than hard copy as the standard method for distributing data sets, so this should not pose a problem for future users. > For > now, I can say that looking at about 40 images in the ering and mainring/ > rawimages, I did not note one problem (Gawd those WHT headers are long - > a clear challenge to the HST headers ;-) I think the WHT disc is ready > for prime time. > I will be out of email contact for the next three days, but let > me know if you need more on this. > > Happy New Year! > > -Steve
